The global maritime sulphur cap comes into operation in 2020 and yet there are far-reaching consequences for so many industries using maritime transportation. The global coal trade is one that is very concerned with the effects. With projected costs for scrubbers estimated at between $3-6 million, it is not hard to see why some industries are fearful of the cap come 2020.
